Abstract: Disclosed here is a method of detecting traumatic brain injury in a subject, comprising collecting a biological sample from the subject; analyzing the biological sample to determine the level of at least one protein selected from ALDOA, PHKB, HBA-A1, DPYSL2, SYN1 and/or CKB; and determining whether the level of the at least one protein exceeds a predetermined threshold.

In certain aspects, the method further comprises the step of administering a treatment to the subject if the at least one protein exceeds the predetermined threshold. The disclosed technology relates generally to brain injuries, and in particular to a panel of serum based biomarkers that can identify individuals with mild traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Abstract: Disclosed are methods for identifying one or more amino acid molecules and nucleic acid molecules encoding such amino acid molecules of at least two proteomes that are conserved, unique or express at higher or lower levels in at least one of the proteomes.

Expression libraries are used that produce the proteome, and in one embodiment, may produce the proteome from at least one cDNA expression library in one to five reactions. Anti-proteome antibodies are prepared that selectively bind to one of the proteomes and binding with at least one second proteome compared.
